Missions

In addition to hauling around cargo and defending themselves, all starships have the ability to conduct missions every turn. It should be noted that starships need fuel for most missions to function.

The missions that are available to all starships are as follows:

• Exploration
• Mine Sweep
• Lay Mines (only starships with torpedo tubes)
• Kill!
• Sensor Sweep
• Land and Disassemble (formerly Colonize)
• Try to Tow (only starships with two or more engines)
• Intercept
• Enter Wormhole (only in games with this feature enabled)
• Load Artifact (only in games with Emork's Legacy enabled)
• Transfer Artifact (only in games with Emork's Legacy enabled)
• Beam Up (formerly Gather)

There are several "Special" missions that can be set on starships. These are available, either because the ship has a special ability, or the race owning the ship has a special ability.

The following special missions may be available from the Mission menu, depending on the race and the starship:

• Bioscan - Starship specific
• Build Clans - Race specific - Campaign only
• Build Fighters - Race specific
• Cloak - Starship specific
• Cloak and Intercept - Race specific - Standard and Campaign only
• Dark Sense - Race specific
• Destroy Planet - Race specific, only effects one starship - Campaign only
• Hide in Warp Well - Race specific - Campaign only
• Hisssss! - Race specific
• Lay Web Mines - Race specific
• Pillage Planet - Race specific
• Plunder Planet - Race specific - Campaign only
• Pull Minefield - Race specific - Campaign only
• Push Minefield - Race specific - Campaign only
• Rebel Ground Attack - Race specific
• Receive Fighters - Race specific - Standard and Campaign only
• Repair Self - Race specific
• Repair Ship - Race specific - Campaign only
• Rob Ship - Race specific
• Send Fighters - Race specific - Standard and Campaign only
• Super Refit - Race specific
• Super Spy - Race specific
• Swarm - Race specific
• Tantrum - Race specific, only effects one starship - Campaign only

The following special missions may be available from the Movement bar, depending on the starship:
