At Planets.nu, Campaign Resources are used to research Campaign Hulls and Campaign Advantages. This research is performed from the Officer's Homeworld page. After these hulls and advantages have been researched, they may be used in Campaign games.
A player's Campaign Resources for each race are kept separate, as are the hulls and advantages. As an example, if a player wants to use the Ion Starbase Shield , it would have to be researched and enabled in each race that the player wants to use it in.
The vast majority of the Campaign Resources that a player will have will be earned by the player's performance within the game. There are two ways to earn Campaign Resources from a game.
Campaign Resources are earned by colonizing or conquering planets in a public game. It is possible to earn the Campaign Resources for the planet once for each of these activities. This is done on a per-player basis, not per-slot, so a replacement player still has a chance to earn Campaign Resources.
The amount of the minerals earned is based on the mineral richness of the planet and the mineral richness of the game. The exact formulae may be found here.
The per-turn Campaign Resources are multiplied by a player's Tenacity before being credited to the Officer's Homeworld.
In addition to the per-turn Campaign Resource earnings, there are also end-of-game earnings. These end-game earnings are based on the end-of-game player position, the number of planets controlled at the end of the game, the number of turns the player was in the game, the mineral richness of the planet and the mineral richness of the game. The exact formulae may be found here.
The end-of-game Campaign Resource earnings are only available to players who complete the game. Players who leave the game before the end will not receive end-of-game earnings.
The end-of-game Campaign Resource earnings are multiplied by a player's Tenacity before being credited to the Officer's Homeworld.
When a badge is earned, the award includes Achievement points and Campaign Resources.
In addition to the earned Campaign Resources, each Officer may have some initial Campaign Resources. The amount of those initial resources is based on the Advantage Points that the Officer's race has. These Campaign Resources are allocated when the Officer is Activated in the Player's Officers page. Details of the amount can be found here.
