Deep Scan is a starship mission unique to the Deep Watcher and only available when the vessel is at Warp 0 in deep space. These enhanced scanners detect all vessels, including cloakers, when they are in transit to new waypoints. If inside a warpwell or in orbit of a planet, the vessel performs normal sensor sweeps. While in Deep Scan mode, the Watcher is unable to be scanned except by a starship at the same location.
Information about this new technology is limited, but evidence suggests moving vessels have a 1-2% chance per light year travelled to be noticed by each Deep Watcher. Each time a vessel is detected, a blip on the starmap appears. Lastly, movement within a nebula cannot avoid the Deep Scanners.
