A player slot is considered "Dead" if it is both vacant and ineligible for replacement before the end of the game. Any remaining possessions of a Dead player will continue to operate with any pre-programmed moves and orders that remain, but any orders which require client interaction will not occur. All Friendly Codes will remain intact, with the exception that any new minefields laid in a player's identity after that player has lost his last planet will have their Friendly Codes set to 000 , while existing minefields will retain their previous codes.
There are two paths to a "Dead" state: the KillRace mechanism and the Fight Or Fail mechanism.
