Planets.nu has several game settings that are designed to make it easier for a beginner to learn the game.
This setting is used in MvM games. It causes all starships to be visible, even cloaked starships. While this removes the surprise of a cloaked starship appearing out of nowhere, it does not impact the other features of cloaking, such as immunity from attack.
It should be noted that cloaked starships can be towed when this setting is enabled. This is because the starship is visible, which is not normally true for cloaked starships. The general rule that if you can see it you can tow-lock it still applies.
This setting is used in Beginner games. It helps a new player focus on the "big picture" instead of having to worry about the details of fuel management.
This setting is used in Beginner games, also as a simplification. Where supplies would normally be produced, MegaCredits are produced. Where supplies would normally be consumed (building planetary structures and fighters), MegaCredits are consumed.
This queue is used in Beginner games. While this queue was originally designed for more advanced games, it was implemented to help new players learn without forcing them to understand the complexities of a global ship build queue.
This setting is used in Basic Training games. It causes Torpedoes and Fighters to be available in unlimited quantities at no cost.
This setting is used in Basic Training games. It removes the ability to lay minefields.
This setting is used in Basic Training games. It removes Warpwells from the game.
