The Lizards are a very tough, durable race. This allows starships operated by Lizards to sustain 50% more damage than similar starships owned by other races. It is believed that the ability to survive this high level of damage is due to the Lizards themselves actually holding the starship together, but no independent researcher sent to verify this has survived the event. The geater ability of a Lizard to survive with damage also allows their equipment to function with higher levels of damage to the starship.
While Lizard starships can survive a battle with up to 150% damage, the tidal forces of a planet will destroy any starship that receives 100% or more damage in starship-to-planet combat. (Fortunately, the starship survives long enough to take over the planet.) If a Lizard starship receives 100% or more damage in Starship-to-starship combat, but has no starship-to-planet combat, the crew has time to make the appropriate adjustments to the structural integrity fields to keep the starship from being destroyed by the tidal forces.
If a Lizard starship with 100% or more damage is captured by another race, the starship will generally explode unless action is taken to repair the damage in the same Host cycle that the starship is captured.
This advantage is enabled by default, and can not be disabled. No special Mission or Friendly Code is required to trigger this advantage.
This advantage is worth 30 advantage points and is only available to The Lizard Alliance.
