Alchemy Starships

 


Starships —> Abilities —> Alchemy Ships


All races can build two types of alchemy starships, the Neutronic Refinery Ship and the Merlin Class Alchemy Ship. The Merlin converts supplies to minerals , and the Neutronic Refinery Ship converts minerals and supplies to fuel. In addition, the Colonies can build the Aries Class Transport. Finally, the Evil Empire can research the Aries Class Transport for use in a Campaign game.

Neutronic Refinery Ship

The Neutronic Refinery Ship can convert minerals plus supplies to neutronic fuel (Neutronium). Here are the three alchemy reactions that the Neutronic Refinery Ship can use, in the order in which it uses them:

  1. 1 KT duranium + 1 KT supplies —> 1 KT neutronium
  2. 1 KT tritanium + 1 KT supplies —> 1 KT neutronium
  3. 1 KT molybdenum + 1 KT supplies —> 1 KT neutronium

The Neutronic Refinery Ship will automatically perform the refinery function if all three of the following conditions are met. The starship will continue to refine fuel as long as all of the following conditions are met:

To disable the alchemy process, set the Friendly Code of the starship to NAL .

If there is insufficeint space in the fuel tank to process all available minerals then processing will happen in this order: Duranium, Molybdenum, Tritanium.

The Neutronic Refinery Ship is a Tech 9 starship with 10 engines and 1050 KT of cargo room. Its fuel tank can hold 800 KT of fuel. The hull is a very massive 712 KT. The ship is armed with 6 beam weapons. This ship can produce up to 525 KT of fuel per turn.

Merlin Class Alchemy Ship

The Merlin Class Alchemy Ship can convert supplies into minerals.

Here are the possible conversions:

Note 1 – For these Friendly Codes to function as described, the game must have been created with the Extended Alchemy FCs feature enabled. If that code is not enabled, these Friendly Codes will not be recognized as being special, and the default action will be performed.

The Merlin Class Alchemy Ship will convert the supplies to minerals until there are less than 9 KT of supplies on board (6 KT for the Friendly Codes of NAD , NAM and NAT , when enabled).

The Merlin Class Alchemy Ship is a Tech 10 starship with 10 engines and 2700 KT of cargo room. Its fuel tank can hold 450 KT of fuel. The hull is a very massive 920 KT, which makes it one of the largest ships in any fleet. The ship is armed with 8 beam weapons. The ship can produce a maximum of 900 KT of minerals per turn.

Aries Class Transport

The Aries Class Transport is a limited alchemy ship that can be produced by the Colonies and, can be researched for use in a Campaign game by the the Evil Empire. This starship will convert minerals in its cargo bay into fuel as long as there is space in the fuel tank.

To disable the alchemy process, set the Friendly Code of the starship to NAL .

If there is insufficeint space in the fuel tank to process all available minerals then processing will happen in this order: Duranium, Molybdenum, Tritanium.
